Terms of Use
Last updated: 2 July 2026
ScamChecker is operated by Wyse Holdings Pty Ltd (“ScamChecker”, “we”, “us”). By using this website and service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.
What ScamChecker is — and isn't
ScamChecker is an automated guide to help you spot messages that may be scams. It is not financial, legal or professional advice, and it is not a substitute for your own judgement.
- A result of “No scam signs found” is not a guarantee that a message is safe or genuine — it means our automated checks didn't spot the usual warning signs.
- A result of “Likely a scam” is our automated assessment, not a definitive determination.
- Automated checks can make mistakes — they may miss a scam, or flag a genuine message. Always take extra care before sending money or sharing personal details.
We are independent
ScamChecker is an independent Australian service. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of any bank, financial institution, government agency or other organisation named on this site. Where we name an organisation, it is only to help identify and describe potential scams. Any phone numbers or links we provide are for your convenience — always verify contact details independently, for example by using the number on the back of your card.
Using ScamChecker responsibly
- Use the service lawfully and only for its intended purpose.
- Don't rely on it as your only safeguard against scams.
- Don't attempt to disrupt, misuse or gain unauthorised access to the service.
Accounts and sign-in
Some features need an account. Keep your email secure and let us know if you think someone else has accessed your account. You're responsible for activity under your account.
Subscriptions and billing
- There is a free option. Paid plans are Just for me ($4.99/month or $39/year) and Family ($9.99/month or $79/year), in Australian dollars.
- Payments are handled securely by Stripe. We don't store your card details.
- Paid plans renew automatically each period until you cancel. You can cancel anytime and keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Prices may change — we'll give you notice before a change affects you.
Our liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, ScamChecker — including any decision you make about a message, payment or contact. You use the service at your own discretion.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Where our liability can't be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to re-supplying the service (or paying to have it re-supplied).
Changes
We may update the service and these terms from time to time. The “last updated” date above shows when they last changed. Continuing to use ScamChecker means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
